Coronet’s history
An entrepreneurship story that began over 50 years ago
Coronet is a leader in the production of alternative materials to tanned leather for the manufacturing sectors of clothing, footwear, leather goods, and automotive.
Since 1967, we have brought value and innovation to the field of polyurethane coatings, and today we stand among the world’s leading companies. We consistently pursue quality, creating and delivering innovative and highly sustainable products.
Indeed, our longstanding goal is to produce cruelty-free materials that respect the environment while simultaneously ensuring exclusive quality performance.
A commitment that has translated into the design and development of BioVeg, the first line of bio-based products made from certified raw materials, leading to today’s YatayTM line, which represents the evolution of the bio-based concept paired with certified supports. This evolution extends to completely solvent-free versions, such as the latest addition, YatayTM Zero.
Coronet heads an international group with seven production facilities located in Italy, China, and Vietnam. Among the Italian facilities, the acquisition of Synt3 S.r.l. stands out—an Italian company founded in 1971, a leader in the production of materials primarily destined for the paper and book covering sectors.

Sustainable Product Lines
BETWEEN SUSTAINABILITY AND INNOVATION
The decision to base our work on technological innovation has led us to the creation of new product lines that are even more sustainable and have production processes with low environmental impact.
Our commitment to sustainable innovation materializes in the BioVeg line, crafted with recycled polyester and bio-polyols from non-food competition corn, ensuring high aesthetic and functional performance. Advanced materials, with the highest percentage of renewable sources, surpass aging resistance tests according to ISO 1419:2018 (E) Method C “Tropical Test.”
H2O, the line obtained through a production process free of chemical solvents, utilizes innovative water-based resins and microfibers.
Its realization is the result of cutting-edge techniques that our Research and Development department has studied to create a material completely solvent- and water-free.
Different products, each with unique characteristics
Yatay™ Z
It includes all solvent-free items made from selected raw materials (the entire supply chain is free from Volatile Organic Compounds) and is produced using a patented process using FSC or GRS certified supports. Yatay™ Z products can be entirely produced without solvents.
Yatay™ B
It encompasses all bio-based items made with advanced second-generation bio-polyols, using FSC or GRS certified supports. Items in this category are made with recycled PES from plastic bottles and bio-polyols sourced from non-food, non-GMO corn crops.
Yatay™ R
It includes all items made from GRS certified recycled raw materials, both pre and post-consumer, to achieve better performance. Recycled polyester gives a second life to a material that is not biodegradable and would otherwise end up in landfills or the ocean.
Yatay™ W
It includes all water-based materials made with aliphatic PU (Polyurethane) on supports of recycled and GRS certified PES. A technically versatile range with a very soft feel and excellent wear resistance, as well as outstanding breathability.
Coronet and Golden Goose: A Partnership Shaping the Future
The green ethos of Coronet and the passion of Golden Goose have given rise to Yatay™ Model 1B, an innovative sneaker crafted with Yatay™ B material: the perfect blend of green technical performance and cutting-edge aesthetics.
But this collaboration has yielded more than just this.
Yatay™ LAB is the project through which, together with Golden Goose, we’ve created a hub for sustainable innovators worldwide — a laboratory where creativity and sustainability come together to innovate.
It’s an inspirational platform aimed at becoming an international attraction for designers, brands, and small production entities seeking the technical expertise to turn their green creations into industrializable materials.
This is why approximately 5% of the revenue from Yatay™ material sales will be annually invested in the technical know-how of the Yatay™ LAB R&D, aiming to research new raw materials suitable for developing increasingly sustainable products.
